Unfiltered water contains harmful minerals and impurities from dirty, rusty pipes that can damage your skin and hair. Over time, this leads to weak hair follicles, flaky skin and even flare-ups of psoriasis and eczema.

Unfortunately, many cities use chlorine to disinfect tap water. Chlorine has a sterilizing effect due to its strong oxidizing power, but it also damages proteins, which are the main component of skin and hair. The breakdown of proteins in skin and hair increases the risk of skin diseases such as eczema and often causes problems such as itching, dandruff and hair loss.

Researchers at Boston University in the USA have discovered that volatile chemicals are absorbed through the lungs and skin when you shower with hot water. Inhaling fine spray mist in the shower is about six times more harmful than drinking the water!

Chlorine and copper contamination in household water can lead to color changes in blonde hair. This is because the iron in hard water has an oxidizing effect, which leads to brassy, copper-coloured tones.

Our product uses a two-stage filter system and highly concentrated vitamin C to remove various foreign substances and chlorine residues. Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) removes chlorine by neutralizing chlorinated water. The gel inside the vitamin filter contains only natural ingredients. It consists of vitamin C, collagen, glycerine, natural essential oils and distilled water, which are held together in a matrix of xanthan gum. Xanthan gum is a natural sugar molecule that is often used as a thickening agent for food. Our research has shown that these ingredients are healthy for the human body. None of these ingredients are harmful to the human body.

Essential. The Picki Niki shower head is safety-certified and can be used for all age groups, including pregnant women, and all skin types. For people who are sensitive to fragrances, we recommend our "Unscented" vitamin filter without any fragrance.

If you suffer from a skin disease, even a tiny amount of residual chlorine in tap water can make your symptoms worse. According to a study by Dr. Seki Taisuke from Toyama University in Japan, eczema patients are even more sensitive to residual chlorine than people without a skin disease.

ONE PERSON: Our vitamin filter should be changed every month, the sediment filter can be changed less frequently, every two to three months. 

MORE THAN ONE PERSON: If more than one person uses the shower head, it will last less. Note: The replacement cycle may vary depending on the temperature and quantity of water used, the water quality in the home and the condition of the water pipes.

You can check the condition of the filter in the shower head using the indicators.

Shower heads should also be kept upright when NOT in use. This allows the water to flow out of the head and the vitamin gel lasts longer. 

Leaving the city?

WE RECOMMEND: Why not take it with you on your travels? You'll always have clean water wherever you go! :D The ½ inch size is an international standard and fits any shower hose! (Not to mention that many hotels also have very poor water pressure. Two examples: In both Paris and Stockholm we had low pressure, chlorine smell and hard water. And these are just the problems you can see or smell!)

Otherwise, shower heads should be kept upright when NOT in use. This allows the water to flow out of the head and the vitamin gel is retained for longer.

The pre-installed water spray plate has 0.3 mm wide holes that drastically increase the water pressure. If you already have a very strong water pressure, this could be too much. The second water spray plate has larger holes of 0.35 mm. Therefore you can choose the best option for your space. Keep the other one as well, it will come in handy when traveling. Many hotels have poor water pressure.

Our sediment filters clean foreign matter without ALWAYS leaving visible traces or becoming discolored (usually brown due to rust particles). During the filtering process, small particles can clog the dense filter fiber. If the water pressure drops significantly, it is time to replace the sediment filter, even if it still looks "good".

First disconnect the shower head and shower hose and drain the standing water. Then put two tablespoons of baking soda with water in a plastic bag or bowl and place the shower hose and shower head in the mixture. If there is still visible residue after an hour or less, scrub it off with a brush/toothbrush and rinse with water. If you want to give the sterilization an extra kick, add two tablespoons of vinegar to the mixture.
