It binds the calcium and magnesium minerals – the culprits behind hard water – helping reduce the residue they leave behind.
Use against hard water: ascorbic acid binds with magnesium and calcium minerals, making them water-soluble. This helps reduce the residue they leave on skin, hair and in the shower cubicle.
The lime, calcium carbonate (CaCO3), combines with ascorbic acid (C5H5O5CH2OH). The product is CO2 (carbon dioxide gas that simply goes into the atmosphere), H2O (water) and Ca(C6H7O6)2 (calcium ascorbate, which is water-soluble).
Use against chlorine: Reduces residual chlorine to non-detectable levels (KEWI lab test).
One gram of ascorbic acid neutralises the free chlorine in roughly 400 litres (about 100 gallons) of water at 1 mg/L. The reaction is very fast.

About 2.5 parts ascorbic acid are needed to neutralise 1 part chlorine. Since ascorbic acid is weakly acidic, the pH of the treated water can drop slightly in weakly alkaline water. Slightly acidic water is perfect for the skin barrier, scalp and hair.

Strong but soft jet Very good for our thick hair. My daughter likes to shower even more now. My son loves the water jet. I love the scent and the softer feel of the hair. My skin is no longer as tight as sun and feels much more comfortable. We are still using the original vitamin C filter for the 2nd week. We're very happy.

My water pressure wasn't reduced, this was good, as swapping showerheads seems to cause such issues. The design is very sleek and did not look out of place is the shower, if anything it upgraded it. The clear part on the shower handle is also a good design feature, as it allows you to view the debris and know when to change the sediment filter. Every home should have a PICKINIKI, no ifs , no buts, no regrets, no lies.

After much research, I purchased this shower head with 2 integrated filters. I was expecting greatly reduced water pressure and modest reduction in hard water deposits on my shower and hair. The Picki Niki shower head with the handle filter and gel filter IMPROVED my water pressure with a wonderfully soft, but powerful stream of clean, softened water. My hair feels softer and I notice decreased hard water deposits on my shower pan. I LOVE IT and will absolutely repurchase!!
